Treehouse tasting room featured in new book

By Mary Beth Breckenridge Published: March 10, 2014

I wrote about Treehouse Brewing Co.’s treehouse tasting room last summer, and I’m still getting calls about it.

So I suspect a number of you will be interested to know the treehouse is featured in the new book Be in a Treehouse by noted treehouse builder and TV personality Pete Nelson.

Nelson and his Seattle company, TreeHouse Workshop Inc., built the tasting room for Kevin Mooney Sr., who owns a vacation complex called Mohican Cabins near Mohican State Park. The construction of the treehouse was the subject of an episode of Nelson’s TV series, Treehouse Masters, which is broadcast on the Animal Planet cable network.

The company had earlier built a treehouse cabin for Mooney. Both are featured in the book.

Be in a Treehouse contains treehouse-building basics and lots of pictures and descriptions of treehouses Nelson has constructed, plus some built by others. The book is published by Abrams and sells for $37.50 in hardcover.

It will be released March 25. After that date, you should be able to find it in bookstores, on online book-selling sites and possibly at your local library.
