What does your door say about you?

By Mary Beth Breckenridge Published: June 4, 2013

Door colors are portals to our personalities, at least in the opinion of Kate Smith, a color expert with door manufacturer Therma-Tru.

Here's Smith's assessment of what your door color says about you:

Red tells the world, “Look at me!” You're not afraid of standing out or speaking out.

White indicates you like things to be organized, neat and clean.

Green says you have traditional values and enjoy being a member of the community.

Black is the choice of someone who's consistent, conservative and reserved. A black door represents a timeless design style.

Blue tells people you are naturally at ease in most situations.

Yellow says you prize community like someone who chooses green, but you're a bit less traditional. You’re most likely a leader or organizer of a group.

Purple reveals a free spirit who is comfortable taking risks, thinking differently and dreaming big.

My door is red, but a muted version -- kind of appropriate, when I read the description. What color is yours?
