Lots of us are stuck with big, plain bathroom mirrors.
Luckily, updating them isn't difficult.
The makers of Elmer's Pro Bond Advanced adhesive offer instructions for creating this mirror frame, designed by Erin Hankins of the blog HowToNestForLess.com. All it takes is some wood trim, adhesive and Elmer's Clamp Tape, plus caulk for the seams, putty for the nail holes and some paint.

Food Network Magazine features the Cleveland chef's kitchen renovation in its November issue.
Symon and his wife, Liz, bought a century-old Tudor in Cleveland and embarked on a makeover that created a 700-square-foot kitchen and entertainment space. Like your paper goods with pizzazz?
Check out Lovely Somethings, a new stationery shop in Bath’s Ghent Square.
Owner Liz Scott offers an out-of-the-ordinary array of greeting cards, wrappings, note cards, home accessories and other items, as well as her custom-designed invitations.
It’s a small shop, but a fun one. Reading the greeting cards is a hoot. My favorite is a money holder that says, “Let’s cut the crap. I know what you really want.”To read more or comment...
Who wouldn't love a mirror that pays you compliments?

Ohio State University Ph.D. student David Showalter wants to stop the scourge. And you can help him.
Showalter is using crowd sourcing to raise money for his research, which seeks to determine why Asian ash trees can resist the borer but ours can’t. He’s studying the genetic material of trees to try to discover genes that make Asian trees resistant.
Showalter wants to raise $8,500 by Oct. 20. By this morning, he had $1,190 in pledges. To read more or comment...

It’s that time of year when stink bugs become uninvited guests.
In autumn, the shield-shaped insects enter our homes through little cracks and crevices, looking for shelter from the cold. You may not have seen any yet, but once the first frost hits, you probably will.
This may be cold comfort, but know that brown marmorated stink bugs are just annoyance in our homes, not threats. They won’t bite, sting or cause damage.
Still, they can be a nuisance, especially when they invade in large numbers. To read more or comment...
