Kong Ransacking GOP Village

By The Reverend Published: August 27, 2015

Jorge Ramos is called the Walter Cronkite of Latino America. His news shows are watched by 2 million Latinos every day. Ramos is the guy Donald Trump had escorted from the room at the start of a press conference in Dubuque, Iowa on Tuesday. Trump told Ramos to "go back to Univision."

Who is Jorge Ramos?

The 57-year-old has anchored "Noticiero Univision," Spanish-language TV's No.1-ranked newscast, for nearly three decades and is considered a trusted source of news. A 2010 study by the Pew Hispanic Center found that among Latinos, Ramos was the second-most recognized Latino leader behind Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor, and other polls have shown he is one of the most trusted public figures among Latinos.

Here's a TalkingPointsMemo commenter paraphrasing what Donald Trump was communicating to all U.S. Hispanics when he had the popular Latino-American journalist Jorge Ramos removed from his press conference the other evening....

Not Merely A Man, Or A GOP Candidate.....Trump Is Kong

By The Reverend Published: August 26, 2015

For months, Mika and Blow earned their keep on the 3 hour Morning Republicans program by all-but fellating the Outlaw Jersey Whale, aka Chris Christie. Nary a discouraging word against the now GOP-polling-ass-dragger was ever tolerated without a swift, and stern, rebuttal.

The reason that all happened on the "liberal" MSNBC morning program is because the program exists to fluff Republicans and the Republican Party.

Because of Christie's, well, total collapse....Blow and Mika have been anxiously awaiting the Next Big Republican Candidate so they could begin fluffing and shilling for him/her too. Now, they have found their man, the guy who will rescue the dying-on-the-vine GOP....The Donald.

This morning, as seen in this MSNBC Blow segment entitled "Trump clashes with reporter: who was wrong?".....both fluffers, Mika and Blow....and don't forget Willie Butt-Boy Geist......pledged their love and affection to their new GOP man. Do watch the video segment.....just have a barf-bag handy.

Common Sense Clowns

By The Reverend Published: August 26, 2015

First, let's get this out of the way....

Chuck Todd....First Read....

It has become increasingly apparent that Hillary Clinton might not be able to beat a unified political press corps on constant scandal patrol. But she could beat Joe Biden and Bernie Sanders.

Chuck is a Very Serious guy.

"Breaking Speculation"

By The Reverend Published: August 25, 2015

Many in the Very Smart camp were celebrating what appeared early this morning to be a stock market rally following the last five market days' 2000 point decline in the DOW. Again this morning I checked the DOW futures...and sure enough, they were plus 500, climbing occasionally to +600 before the markets officially opened at 9:30AM.

These Very Smart folks explained, Very Seriously mind you, that China had cut it's interest rate overnight and Big Time U.S. Investors were responding positively to that news. Big Time Investors were "encouraged" by the China news....and that meant STOCK MARKET REBOUND big block letters, just like that.

The markets opened in the green just as the futures predicted and the DOW showed triple digit gains all day long.

But oddly, at the close of the markets today, the DOW finished DOWN some 205 points. Tell us again, you of the Very Smart camp, why, again, was the market going to rally today?

Angry Trump Supporters Prefer An American King

By The Reverend Published: August 25, 2015

Do I think Joe Biden will run for the Democratic presidential nomination? No.

The Washington Monthly's David Atkins suggests Biden has nothing to lose by declaring his candidacy. Martin at Booman Tribune disagrees.

Both are very smart guys. I think Martin's take is more convincing.

Taking it All

By The Reverend Published: August 24, 2015

At 8 AM stock futures are looking a bit scary. DOW futures are down 500, Nasdaq futures are down 200, and S&P futures are down 70.

Could be a huge opening bell head fake.....but I highly doubt it after last week's market magic....

Stocks saw their biggest weekly declines since 2011 with both the Dow Jones Industrial Average DJIA, -3.12% and the S&P 500 index SPX, -3.19% falling 5.8%, and the Nasdaq Composite Index COMP, -3.52% dropping 6.8%. The Dow industrials and the Nasdaq entered correction territory with both indexes more than 10% below their 52-week highs.

With that, traders are scrambling like mad with options plays anticipating what they perceive will be wide swings in the market over the next month.

Politically Incorrect: The New Conservative Cool

By The Reverend Published: August 23, 2015

Wikipedia....Political correctness (adjectivally, politically correct, commonly abbreviated to PC) is an ordinarily pejorative term used to criticize language, actions, or policies seen as being excessively calculated to not offend or disadvantage any particular group of people in society.

Merriam Webster defines it this way......agreeing with the idea that people should be careful to not use language or behave in a way that could offend a particular group of people.

A good portion of Donald Trump's early primary success on the GOP side of things is being attributed to Trump's refusal to be "politically correct." At Big Top Pee Wee-Cleveland, Mr. Trump explained.......

“I think the big problem this country has — is being politically correct. And I don’t frankly have time for total political correctness. And to be honest with you, this country doesn’t have time either.”

Freedom-Spreading In Youngstown

By The Reverend Published: August 22, 2015

The banty-rooster impersonator, John Kasich, has a burr up his hiney over schoolteachers.....

“If I were, not president, if I were king in America, I would abolish all teachers’ lounges where they sit together and worry about ‘woe is us’,” the GOP presidential candidate said.

Tell me, which group of employees doesn't sit around in the break room bitching about how they're being mistreated by their employer? In my experience, it is a national pastime.

But you see, Kasich still has a sore hiney over Ohio's public employee unions knockout punch effort in repealing SB5 in a statewide referendum. Kasich, though calming his supply-sider ass down a bit in order to get re-elected, has never forgotten the black eye unionized teachers in the state gave him just a couple of short years ago. Kasich holds grudges....and those grudges have spilled over into his sure-to-fail bid for the GOP presidential nomination.

Thought Of The Day

By The Reverend Published: August 21, 2015

Subject: Hillary e-mails.

The people from the right who remind us daily that government is the problem and never the solution, that the answers to all economic and social problems are found in limiting the size and scope of the federal government, and that government bureaucrats with all their government bureacratic rules are killing America and the American Spirit by a billion tiny cuts........those same people on the right have worked themselves into a self-righteous frenzy over Obama administration policy rules for White House employees as they relate to e-mails. Out of the blue comes a whirlwind of newfound love, devotion and deep respect for the minutia of government bureaucratic regulations.from right wing conservatives who hate every thing about the federal government.

Here's what provoked my thought of the day. Now, even Eugene Robinson has bought the bullshite.

My god, it is said by Villagers that Morning Blow sets the tone for each "news" day's political narrative. Is it any wonder, then, that every thing is so phucked up?

Anchors Away

By The Reverend Published: August 21, 2015

A new distraction has entered the presidential primary campaign....

At a press conference Wednesday, a reporter asked Trump if he was aware the term "anchor baby" was an offensive and hurtful term.

"You mean it's not politically correct, and yet everybody uses it?"

White conservatives who are taking their country back, and the Republicans who represent them, often refer to "anchor babies". It's meant to be a pejorative....and now, thanks to the GOP frontrunner, Donald Trump...that pejorative is being mainstreamed.
