Admitting Error

By The Reverend Published: July 5, 2013

Here is a quote from Republican Rep. Steve King of Iowa....

"Harry Reid can defend those ghoulish and ghastly and gruesome practices that Planned parenthood is advocating along with child prostitution and illegal immigration...."

Here's another quote from Steve King...

“If we’re going to respect judge-made law and stop praying in our public schools, that was the beginning of the judicial activism that’s begun to break down this civilization, and this culture.”

And here's another....

"Planned Parenthood is invested in promiscuity." (House Floor Speech 3-1-11)

Another....

"When the legislation that passed in the farm bill says that it’s a federal crime to watch animals fight or to induce someone else to watch an animal fight, but it’s not a federal crime to induce somebody to watch people fighting, there’s something wrong with the priorities of people that think like that,” King said at the meeting. “It’s wrong to rate animals above human beings."

Um....another....

“It turns out to be the best vote that I cast, was my “no” vote to the $51.5 billion to Hurricane Katrina. That probably was my best vote.”

One of my favorites from Iowa's Steve King....

“If there is a sexual predator out there who has impregnated a young girl. Say a thirteen year old girl; and it happens in America more times than you and I would like to think. That sexual predator could pick that girl up off the playground at the middle school and haul her across the state line and force her to get an abortion to irradiate the evidence of his crime and bring her back and drop her off at the swing set and that’s not against the law in the United States of America.”

Why a list of quotes from GOP Rep. Steve King of Iowa? Glad you asked.

It seems that someone from Steve King's office contacted Ohio.com over a blog post entitled "Who is the real traitor?" that The Reverend had written and published on June 11, 2013. Steve King's office has demanded a retraction or correction. Here is the offending portion....

“He’s a traitor,” Boehner said in an interview with ABC. “The disclosure of this information puts Americans at risk. It shows our adversaries what our capabilities are. And it’s a giant violation of the law.”

Mike Rogers (R-MI), Steve King (R-IA), and Peter King (R-NY) agree with Boehner. They want Edward Snowden arrested and disappeared.

As evident in the words from Steve King listed starting at the top, the Iowa GOP congressman has made many a memorable quote......but Steve King of Iowa did not "agree with Boehner" about Edward Snowden. I apologize to Mr. King for my error in including his name in with three other Republicans who do consider Edward Snowden a traitor.

I do my best to be accurate.......but I definitely made an error in including Steve King of Iowa in with other 'Snowden is a traitor' Republicans. Peter King of New York, Dave King of Akron....Steve King of Iowa....you know,....it gets confusing at times.

Sorry Steve, even though it was an honest mistake...The Reverend regrets making it.
