Transparent

By The Reverend Published: April 30, 2008

Today's ponderings....

What has become transparently clear this election cycle is the pains establishment Villagers, conspiring with Republicans, have gone to in order to keep policy discussions off the front pages and off the evening "newscasts". Instead of thorough discussions, meaningful question and answer sessions, follow up rebuttal questions, comparisons of left-right policies, the last 8 years of Bush policies....etc.....we have been treated to a glorious presentation of personal guilt-by-association attacks and meaningless trivialities.

Obama Press Conference

By The Reverend Published: April 29, 2008

What's interesting to me, as I watch Obama's press conference to discuss the deep and serious threat to the country Obama's pastor has become,....what's interesting is how intensely the Lapdoggers are scrutinizing every syllable. Repetitive questionings and requestionings, digging deep for every nuance in Barack Obama's answers to their own Rev Wright smear and guilt by association game I would tag 'Operation Pile The F*ck On'.

Go here to see the press conference.

Not Rocket Science

By The Reverend Published: April 28, 2008

Many ill informed Americans of the conservative persuasion have been banging their predictable ANWR and off shore oil drums in response to $3.50 per gallon gasoline prices. If all of ANWR's oil were pumped out it would make a .3% world supply difference. Obviously, at least to reality based folks, that is not the answer or even A answer to the gouging that's currently going on.

What's Driving McCain?

By The Reverend Published: April 27, 2008

It's a long time from May to November, and it will seem much longer for enthusiasts of John McCain's candidacy for president if the Arizona senator continues his, thus far, dismal campaigning.

"Rare Exception"

By The Reverend Published: April 26, 2008

Decades of reporting on the powerful, in and around Washington D.C., brings with it invaluable training. Training which helps focus the veteran reporter's mind like a laser beam enabling him to know, almost reflexively, what's objectively true and what is not. This invaluable training is so invaluable because American's would never know the truth about their government leaders without it.

What's Really Important

By The Reverend Published: April 25, 2008

I know that the only critical points for determining which presidential candidate to vote for are found in 40 year old smear-by-association points. I know that. Or 40 year old prisoner of war stories. All of this is oh-so-important. Reliving and rearguing circa 1968 material has to be the only determining factor in choosing our candidate. I know this because that's what every Patriotic Knee Pad Network is talking about and will continue to talk about. It MUST be the most important issue to us 21st century dwellers.

What the little people need to know is what some guys did 40 years ago....guys who now know Barack Obama. They didn't know Obama 40 years ago....because he was, like, 8 years old....but every American must decide who to vote for anyway.....not over current pressing national issues....but on insinuation-by-association.

Strange Thinking

By The Reverend Published: April 23, 2008

Barack Obama lost to Hillary Clinton in the Pennsylvania primary yesterday by 10%. Twice what I predicted. I must not have prayed fervently enough. Anyway, I was mistaken. I don't follow Bush, The Younger's template.....I admit error and move forward.

Today's the day. After 6 weeks of total teevee nonsense, the Pennsylvania primary is finally, and mercifully, upon us. Before the screeching heads drag out their political slide rules to demonstrate how blacks and women and white men and the albino constituency voted the way they did in the Quaker State.......here are two WTF blurbs for your edification and amusement....

"This Kind Of Game"

By The Reverend Published: April 17, 2008

The "game" that America's Knee Pad Media plays, is organized around this one basic rule: If a name brand Padder inserts a question or comment into the public arena, as you will see George Stephanopolos doing in the following video clip from last night's ABC F*ck-Obama-Palooza spectacular, it then becomes "news". The question or comment, no matter how irrelevant, no matter how off the wall it sounds, no matter how disingenuously it is asked or stated, instantly becomes echo chambered throughout all of Knee Pad Land.

Keep that rule in mind as you witness the Mighty Wurlitzer in action from now until Quaker Staters vote on Tuesday.

Meeting With Terrorists

By The Reverend Published: April 16, 2008

It's not acceptable to meet with foreign leaders of countries who allegedly harbor extremists and encourage acts of terrorism. This has been the uproar heard over Jimmy Carter's meeting with Hamas, Nancy Pelosi's visit to Syria, Ahmadinajab's visit to America, etc. The reasoning goes that these leaders are bad, and until they change their ways, America's leaders should not meet and dialogue with them. If we would agree to sit down and talk with such leaders, as Barack Obama suggests he would do, that, somehow, sends the wrong "message" to said leaders. Simply talking to these leaders would, it is suggested, be condoning these leader's behavior.

I'm attempting to characterize the conservative position on this issue as accurately as I can.

Straight Talk Torture

By The Reverend Published: April 16, 2008

Politicians say one thing and then do another. That's why Americans distrust them.

George W. Bush has said repeatedly "America doesn't torture", but as we now know from the Principals meeting approved by the president, America does torture. Not only do we torture, but the highest officers in the United States government systematically planned and approved that torture. That makes the Principals and the Decider who decided to approve the plan.....war criminals...but that's not really news.

Bitter Taste

By The Reverend Published: April 15, 2008

Mrs. Reverend and I were away for a few days visiting family around the Columbus area. I haven't touched a computer for over 3 days. Not all bad, really.

I see we have a new non-controversial, controversy over some words spoken by Barack Obama. The Knee Pad agents, I see from the weekend video clips, are still being revived by smelling salts from their fainting spells caused by Barack Obama's truth telling. The one thing that makes media whores wring their hands, speak in tongues and collapse in shock is truth being spoken clearly by a political figure.

WWJD: What Would Juan Do?

The Way Forward, Part 1

By The Reverend Published: April 5, 2008

It's time to summarize where we are in the Democratic primary and make predictions about what will happen next. We're still a few weeks away from the Pennsylvania primary and if the Knee Padders' nightly sputterings are any indication, nothing, and I mean nothing, of substance will be shared with American teevee viewers during those few weeks. The Pad Media is, predictably, microscoping every vowel and consonant from Clinton and Obama while simultaneously conducting solemn and oh-so-serious hero-worship services for the POW presidential wannabe, John S. McCain.

Supply Side Welfare

By The Reverend Published: April 4, 2008

When the Federal Reserve unilaterally offered up U.S. tax dollars to guarantee that JP Morgan Chase would negotiate a merger with the worthless Bear Sterns, not many supply siders batted an eye. $30 billion of tax revenues going to help out the "investor" class is just standard operating procedure from a group of people who honestly believe that the "investor" class should be given special treatment because they're....the investor class.

Bowling For Bull Pucky

By The Reverend Published: April 2, 2008

These blue and red bowling balls in such close proximity to each other...make me wonder.

There's been plenty of time in between primary contests for the Knee Pad Media to relax their jaws a bit from all their hard work and to set about informing Americans about important policy differences between the Democratic candidates and between the Democratic candidates and John McCain. As I've mentioned before, if guns were placed to their heads, these Knee Padders still would not be capable of doing their jobs.

37th In The World And Racing To The Bottom

By The Reverend Published: April 1, 2008

John McCain threw a bone to the right the other day over the national health care crisis we are currently facing. McCain's way of facing the crisis? More choices.

The modern conservative movement is really keen on promoting choices. Not real life choices, like reproductive choices, or pharmaceutical choices, but consumer choices. The GOP is always touting the many choices unrestrained capitalism can create for Americans.
