About This Blog
Admitting that he will not read Scott McClelland's new book, "What Happened?", former GOP presidential candidate, Bob Dole, still has taken the opportunity on the book's release to send Scottie a hate e-mail.
"There are miserable creatures like you in every administration who don’t have the guts to speak up or quit if there are disagreements with the boss or colleagues," Dole wrote in a message sent yesterday morning. "No, your type soaks up the benefits of power, revels in the limelight for years, then quits and, spurred on by greed, cashes in with a scathing critique."
"In my nearly 36 years of public service I've known of a few like you," Dole writes, recounting his years representing Kansas in the House and Senate. "No doubt you will 'clean up' as the liberal anti-Bush press will promote your belated concerns with wild enthusiasm. When the money starts rolling in you should donate it to a worthy cause, something like, 'Biting The Hand That Fed Me.' Another thought is to weasel your way back into the White House if a Democrat is elected. That would provide a good set up for a second book deal in a few years"
Dole assures McClellan that he won't read the book — "because if all these awful things were happening, and perhaps some may have been, you should have spoken up publicly like a man, or quit your cushy, high-profile job."
"That would have taken integrity and courage but then you would have had credibility and your complaints could have been aired objectively," Dole concludes. "You’re a hot ticket now, but don’t you, deep down, feel like a total ingrate?"
He signs the email simply: "BOB DOLE"
To which Scott McClelland responds,...
“I have had time to reflect and go back, and what I’m saying is sincere," he said. “I have a lot of respect for Sen. Dole.” Link
Bob Dole, in a way, represents the larger "faith-based" community who still support the Bush/Cheney administration and in fact, see that administration as a successful, honest, resolute, patriotic and brave administration. The 28 percent Bush/McCain "stay the course" dead-enders have no evidence, data or facts to substantiate their ongoing support for, now, obvious criminals.....they simply still believe and support their Leaders by faith alone.....just as Dole does here having NO knowledge of McClellan's book.
Although the national numbers in support of Mr. Bush and Mr. Cheney are, indeed, low.....those few dead-enders still need fed the ongoing line of malarkey from their Leaders. Bob Dole steps in this time to feed the animals, as it were. And Dole, fittingly, has no idea what he is talking about, admitting that he hasn't read Scottie's book, nor does he intend on doing so. The blind leading the blind. An apt description of the executive branch these last 7 plus years.
The 28 percent dead-enders, whom Bob Dole represents, have no facts or evidence to rebut any of the Bush regime's numerous alleged crimes, some of which McClellan attests to in his book. And so proudly, armed with nothing but their "common sense" and their true "American bloodline patriotism", this 28 percent, vicariously through Bob Dole, attack the messenger as being a "miserable creature". Dole demonstrates how honorable and fair he really is.
McClellan responds to Dole's scolding in a professional and courteous manner.
I think reality based America knows who the "miserable creatures" are.
