In full tantrum mode, Junior Decider spoke oh-so-forcefully yesterday about his make believe Global War On Terror and how Islamofascist-loving Democrats aren't letting him determine all the rules in that make-believe war, anymore.
Hey, he wants his own way. Babs (Barbara Bush)couldn't control him when he was a young boy either.
Here are a few highlights of whining...
"Unfortunately, on too many issues, some in Congress are behaving as if America is not at war," Bush said during a speech at the Heritage Foundation, a conservative think tank. "This is no time for Congress to weaken the Department of Justice by denying it a strong and effective leader. ... It's no time for Congress to weaken our ability to intercept information from terrorists about potential attacks on the United States of America. And this is no time for Congress to hold back vital funding for our troops as they fight al-Qaida terrorists and radicals in Afghanistan and Iraq."
The Knee Padders in the main stream media tell me this is simply a lame clusterduck president using the "bully pulpit". "Bully", as in, pushing your weight around. However that's not the original meaning from the days when the phrase was first coined. It seems that originally, "bully pulpit" had more of a "bully for you" kind of meaning wherein a president, for example, could boast about his many great accomplishments.
Great accomplishments have been like UFO's with this lame clusterduck....often said to have been sighted....but with no empirical evidence they actually exist.
America is NOT at war...not really. We have an imperialistic police occupation going on in Iraq and we are working with other NATO members in and around Aghanistan doing something that has not brought Osama Bin Laden, Zawahiri and Mullah Omar to "justice", you know, "dead or alive", despite the fact that the "pursuit" has been going on for SIX years.
And I must disagree with "Bully Boy". Now IS the time to deny confirmation to a new Attorney General who can't say whether waterboarding is torture because his new bosses would be implicated in crimes if he did.
Now IS the time for Congress to pass a bill restoring the 4th Amendment and preventing a rogue Decider from rolling up the Constitution and toking on it whenever he feels the urge.
And yes, now IS the time to defund the Iraq crime so that no more American soldiers are killed or wounded for the future prosperity of American corporations or the security concerns of Israel.
Bully Boy Commander Guy always has stuff back to front....that's why I call him America's first "Dyslexic President".
Now with Karen Hughes stepping down and Harriet Miers already gone, Junior won't have any surrogate mother figures around any longer telling him how great he is and all. Without his mommy figures advising him, Junior says stupid stuff like this....
"When it comes to funding our troops, some in Washington should spend more time responding to the warnings of terrorists like Osama bin Laden and the requests of our commanders on the ground," Bush said, "and less time responding to the demands of MoveOn.org bloggers and Code Pink protesters." Link
On March 13, 2002, Junior Bully Boy, when asked about Osama Bin Laden said,
"We haven't heard much from him. And I wouldn't necessarily say he's at the center of any command structure. And, again, I don't know where he is," Bush said during the 2002 news conference. "I'll repeat what I said. I truly am not that concerned about him. I know he is on the run.
"I was concerned about him when he had taken over a country," Bush continued. "I was concerned about the fact that he was basically running Afghanistan and calling the shots for the Taliban. But once we set out the policy and started executing the plan, he became - we shoved him out more and more on the margins. He has no place to train his Al Qaeda killers anymore." Link
Somehow, a president who isn't that concerned about Bin Laden, thinks he can tell Congress to NOT listen to their constituents, but instead, to Osama's threats and Bush suck-up's in the U.S military.
MoveOn and Code Pink represent the feelings of 2/3rds of American voters. Die-hard Bush supporters represent 1/4th of American voters.
We had a few sayings back in the day about would be bullies. "Don't let your alligator mouth make trouble for your tadpole ass" or some variant, was one of them.
Next time you hear the muffled sounds emanating from Knee Pad Media whores as they spit out "Bush is using his bully pupit" to do this or that.....simply keep in mind the fact that tadpole-assed BoyKing presidents who open their big alligator mouths....still only have tadpole asses....no matter how many tantrums they throw.
