Christie's Lying

By The Reverend Published: January 11, 2014

"What I've seen today for the first time is unacceptable," Christie said in a statement. "I am outraged and deeply saddened to learn that not only was I misled by a member of my staff, but this completely inappropriate and unsanctioned conduct was made without my knowledge."

I am fully aware of the numerous excuses being offered up in defense of what Glenn Beck is now calling the "Fat and Furious" scandal. The sad faces and the somber words of the Morning Blow team speak volumes about our corrupt modern media. Open political bias is the new cool....and now it comes with new and improved gag-inducing compassion.

Whether Mika likes Christie and considers him a "friend" of the Morning Blow show carries absolutely no weight in the overall scheme of things. Christie is lying....and almost everyone knows it, whether they admit it or not.

In order to believe that Christie was entirely unaware of his closest aides and appointees' conspiracy to punish Ft. Lee for it's Democratic mayor's refusal to endorse Christie's re-election has to believe that Christie was completely clueless about the incident for three months. Didn't know anything about it.

In spite of the numerous Jersey press reports during and after the 4 day-long incident, in spite of this Wall Street Journal piece, in spite of David Wildstein and Bill Baroni's resignations....Christie had no curiosity about what was up. That is what you have to believe to think Christie isn't lying. I think that's a galactic stretch.

"I knew nothing about this. And until it started to be reported in the papers about the closure, but even then I was told this was a traffic study. Senator Barnoni testified that it was a traffic study. There still may have been a traffic study that now has political overtones to it as well. I don't know the answer to that,..."

"We're going to find out, but I don't know, because Senator Barnoi presented all types of information that day to the legislature -- statistics and maps and otherwise -- that seemed evidence of a traffic study, so why would I believe that anybody would not be telling the truth about that?"

Maybe because of this.....

Mr. Foye, testifying under oath on Monday (Dec. 9) after receiving a subpoena, said he didn't believe Mr. Baroni's version of the events was true. "I'm not aware of any traffic study," he said.

Why should Christie have given consideration to the possibility that Baroni was lying about the "traffic study"? The New York Port Authority appointee, Patrick Foye, testified under oath that he was not aware of any such study. That's why.

Christie followed up with this...."So whether there was a traffic study or not, I don't know."

And this...."what I was told was that it was a traffic study. And there was no evidence to the contrary until yesterday that was brought to my attention or anybody else's attention." No evidence? What about Foye's testimony under oath? Anyone think Christie was not aware of Foye's testimony?

Will this help in forming your opinion.....

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie called New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo this week (week of Dec. 9) to complain about a Cuomo appointee's handling of a growing controversy over traffic pattern changes on the George Washington Bridge, a person familiar with the matter said.

Mr. Christie, a Republican, complained in a private phone call to Mr. Cuomo, a Democrat, that Patrick Foye, the executive director of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, was pressing too hard to get to the bottom of why the number of toll lanes onto the bridge from Fort Lee, N.J. was cut from three to one in early September,....

If Christie knew nothing about this bridge incident.....nothing at all....why would he call Cuomo asking him to do something about Patrick Foye....who was accused of "pressing too hard" find out what happened?

To believe, after all that, that Christie simply didn't know anything about the bridge incident is to believe that Christie is totally oblivious to what's going on, not only in his own offices, but in his own state, as well. You have to believe that Christie was not curious, at all, to find out the details of what led to the lanes being shut down in the first place.

It matters not whether Christie spent an hour and a half taking questions....or days....he's lying, and I for one think it is obvious. I saw the exact same behavior by a much smarter man, Richard Nixon. Nixon was lying too....and just like with Christie now, everyone knew it.

Not only are Christie's presidential aspirations over....but, I think, his governorship as well.
