The conventional wisdom this year has been that "real Americans" are mad as hell at their government and are not going to take it any more.
These mad-as-hell Americans are mad as hell.....after 22 months of change in D.C.....because national deficits are high.
For almost two years, I have been told by all the Usual Village Suspects,...and by Da King and by every TeaTard candidate.....that conservative citizens are mad as hell this year, mad as hell I tell ya'.....and because these conservatives are mad as hell, they are not going to take it any more.....
What aren't they going to take anymore of because they are mad as hell?
Federal deficits caused by too much federal spending.
Conservatives, Tea Partiers and Republicans are very, very mad....angry even.....about fiscal irresponsibility. Deficits are too high, they say....spending is out of control, they say.....and they are good and goddamn mad about it. Gonna' do something about it come Tuesday, they say.
So these extremely angry deficit hawk voters, who, literally, can't see straight because of their anger over high national deficits, are voting for Republicans.....Republicans who plan on doing this....
Extend all the Bush-era tax cuts, repeal this year's health-care overhaul and freeze most federal spending at 2008-09 levels.
''Across America, the people see a government in Washington that isn't listening, doesn't get it and doesn't care. Today, that begins to change,'' House Minority Leader John Boehner, R-West Chester, said at a Virginia lumber and hardware store, where the plan (Pledge to America) was unveiled.
The very mad conservatives out there are mad as hell over Washington's spending too much money, borrowing too much money.....and they are not going to take it anymore. What are they going to do, if they aren't going to take it anymore?
Vote for Republicans whose plan is to immediately add $4 trillion to the deficit and increase the government's health care costs.
Tea Party types are so mad.....I'm talking pissed.....about irresponsible government borrowing and spending and big deficits and debt, that they are not takin' it anymore, by god.....they're gonna' do something about it. And what they are going to do is elect Republicans whose opening act will be to add $4 trillion to the national charge card.
That's how goddamn mad Republicans and conservatives are over government borrowing and spending. Never in the recorded history of humans getting mad ....has there ever been anger like this.
And we've all witnessed this never-before-witnessed anger building over these last 22 months.
Not-going-to-take-it-anymore anger which burst out into organized Tea Party rage in February and March, 2009. Outbursts of anger over high taxes (Taxed. Enough. Already.).....when the new Dark Knight had just lowered the payroll taxes for 95% of American workers. Outbursts of anger over taxes when America's income and capital gains tax rates were at their lowest levels in 60 years.
Mad-as-hell evidence was presented at the TownHall Bustups over the national-debt reducing "Obamacare". These angry, angry conservatives listened to what Fox and Dick Armey said that the Dark Knight was proposing to slowly reduce our biggest national budget debt category.....Medicare and Medicaid......and they got even angrier.
The new, angrier Republican voters were so worked up over Obama's plan to slowly reduce the costs of our nation's most budget-threatening item.....health care costs.....that they loudly and brashly disrupted as many Democratic TownHall events as they could.
That's how mad they were. They were not going to take it anymore. They were going to do something about it. They did their angriest best to try to stop Obama and the Democrats from passing legislation which the CBO announced would cut the deficit by hundreds of billions over 10 years.
That's how angry these mad-as-hell conservatives were.....and still are. Madder than mad over irresponsible government spending and borrowing. Gonna' do something about it....too. You'll see.
And so it came to pass, less than a week out from the midterm, that these anger record setters are poised to do something about their anger. The angry, angry conservative voters are going to vote in Republicans whose plan it is to increase the national deficit by $4 trillion over the next 10 years while they cut $100 billion from non-entitlement, non-defense related agencies.
That's how mad the conservative voters are. They are so mad over the national debt and Obama's deficits.....that they are going to vote in new representatives whose opening proposal is to increase the national debt by $4 trillion and repeal a healthcare bill which reduces the national debt by hundreds of billions.
I must confess.....I certainly have never seen anger like that.
