Politico.com is one of the best examples available of what I often call Village media. Every weekday morning a representative from Politico appears on the oh-so-liberal MSNBC cable network to explain to audiences what the important Politico Playbook Play-of-the-Day is. It's all so predictably nauseating.
Politico has the GOP's back most of the time, but that is because the GOP traditionally has been the political party of the rich few. Who Politico really serves is not so much the GOP, but the rich few the GOP traditionally has represented.
And so two of Politico's leading writers have put up a piece today containing this, I think, eye-opening, quote from the 2016 presidential war room of the rich few.....
“If it turns out to be Jeb versus Hillary we would love that and either outcome would be fine,” one top Republican-leaning Wall Street lawyer said over lunch in midtown Manhattan last week. “We could live with either one. Jeb versus Joe Biden would also be fine. It’s Rand Paul or Ted Cruz versus someone like Elizabeth Warren that would be everybody’s worst nightmare.”
That quote answers most questions related to why our nation's income and wealth inequality and disparity are off the charts in favor of the top 1%.
If it's Jebby versus Hillary in 2016.....and you represent the 1%'s interests, then...."either outcome would be fine." Wall Street officials, those whose job is to scheme and skim and squeeze every dollar of profit or growth out of our economy and redistribute those dollars to our celebrity oligarchs...."could live" peacefully, and profitably, "with either" a Jeb Bush presidency or a Hillary Clinton presidency.
It's who the representatives of the rich few do not want to see in the 2016 election that tells the larger story here.....
"It’s Rand Paul or Ted Cruz versus someone like Elizabeth Warren that would be everybody’s worst nightmare.”
Rand Paul and Ted Cruz are not viewed by fat cats as dangerous to the interests of the oligarch-class. Cruz's wife works for Goldman for crying out loud. Paul's version of libertarianism would remove the little restraint that the federal government has now to regulate the oligarchs. So, what Wall Street fatties are worried about with either a Paul or Cruz candidacy is not that, if elected, either would fail to offer windfalls to the wildly wealthy.....it's that either would be too divisive and/or extreme to get elected and that either would wind up fragmenting, perhaps irreparably, the traditional Republican voting coalition. The coalition which has....more than anyone else....made today's third world income disparity in the U.S. the reality that it is today.
But an Elizabeth Warren candidacy absolutely would be Wall Street's "worst nightmare." And especially if she became the president. That's why Warren will NEVER become president. Warren understands the rigged Wall Street economy perfectly and is not shy about explaining what she knows to the American public. Warren dares to talk openly and honestly about national economic stuff which Mitt Romney once mused would be better spoken about "behind closed doors in quiet rooms."
Politico's mild euphoric sedative prescription piece this morning is meant to calm any anxious billionaire nerves that might be getting frazzled over potential presidential prospects who just might interrupt the flow of all income to the top of America's modern ponzi-style economy. Not to worry Mighty Oligarchs.....Politico is on it....and the richest few have nothing whatsoever to worry about with either a Jebby or a Hillary as president.
If only Jebby would run.
And that is also part of the purpose for Politico's anxiety-calmer piece. In order for our Wall Street overlords to feel reassured their 90% cut of all national income gains continues and hopefully increases.....Jeb must run. A Jeb versus Hillary contest would guarantee a winner for the interests of the wealthy. If Politico could only convince Jebby of the importance of calming Wall Street nervousness over the 2016 election, and announce his candidacy soon.....then, moving forward, Politico, and comparable oligarch media outlets, wouldn't have to work so hard tending to the uncertainty anxieties of the richest .1%.
For the rest of us, Politico's piece is just the same-old shite rewarmed. The rich are much more important than anyone else in the country.....which makes them more deserving. So deserving and so much more important than average "taker" joes that Job One for hacker outfits like Politico is to make sure even the slightest threat of anxiety in the billionaire club must be calmed.
With the Big Man from New Jersey still under federal investigation......Politico understands what they must do to serve their masters properly.....convince Jeb Bush to run on the 2016 ticket. Confidence is what our overlords need and deserve.....because what are all those billions for if their owners have to constantly worry before every presidential election whether those billions can be added to?
A Bush versus Clinton contest is the right relaxant prescription for billionaires....and Dr. Politico wrote that prescription this morning.
