Empty Words

By The Reverend Published: December 27, 2007

Immediately after September 11th, 2001, the President of the United States, George W. Bush, stated repeatedly that Osama bin Laden had to be "brought to justice". In fact, Junior went further. He said with bin Laden, justice meant "dead or alive".

It's nearly 2008. Osama bin Laden has not been "brought to justice" and George W. Bush has been documented as saying he's "really not that concerned about him" anymore, referring to the man he once said he wanted "dead or alive".

This morning's tragic news about the assassination of former Pakistani prime minister Benazir Bhutto in an apparent Islamic extremist attack, once again caused the President of the United States, George W. Bush, to speak more words.....

President Bush demanded Thursday that those responsible for the killing of former Prime Minister Benazir be brought to justice.
"The United States strongly condemns this cowardly act by murderous extremists who are trying to undermine Pakistan's democracy," he said. "Those who committed this crime must be brought to justice." Link

Words are all our American president has to offer. Sadly, there's no leadership. And I expect none as this new Pakistani tragedy unfolds.

With a complete understanding that al Qaeda extremists, the most dangerous of all Islamic extremists, were holed up in Afghanistan and Pakistan.....Commander in Chief, George W. Bush ordered the bulk of America's military assets to be sent to Iraq where al-Qaeda extremists were NOT holed up. Our military assets are still inside of Iraq today......and the most dangerous of all Islamic extremists, al-Qaeda extremists, are still, today, holed up inside of Afghanistan and Pakistan.

Shamefully, the U.S President, once again, only has empty words to offer today. The same meaningless and empty words we heard over 6 years ago without any genuine "brought to justice" results. It would have been better today if he would not have spoken the same empty words he used after 9-11. Those Bush spoken, post 9-11 words, spoken oh-so-resolutely, ring out again today, but today they sound empty and hollow.

Pakistan and the world knows the U.S. President's words are only that....words.
