Endangering U.S. Troops To Regain Power?

Down in Florida there is a pastor of a tiny Christian group who is organizing a "burn a Koran" day for this Saturday, 9-11. Corporate media, following it's own lead of wall to wall coverage of the Park 51 project "nontroversy", is paying a lot of attention to this "burn a Koran" project.

From the International Burn a Koran Day site on Facebook, we find this....

On September 11th, 2010, from 6pm - 9pm, we will burn the Koran on the property of Dove World Outreach Center in Gainesville, FL in remembrance of the fallen victims of 9/11 and to stand against the evil of Islam. Islam is of the devil!

If you want to get a taste of the poison I often say religion injects into a few of the comments here.

As of this morning, even though General Petreaus has warned that burning Korans in a public display will directly endanger American Republican has come forward to denounce the planned burning.

This ignorant pastor has the right to do what he's planning to do on 9-11. Just as Americans are granted permission through the first amendment to burn the American flag in too, Pastor Terry Moran and his tiny flock in Gainesville, Florida.

It would have been better if corporately-compromised media would have simply ignored Pastor Moran.....even though burning Korans fits in nicely with conservative America's current hatefest against Islam as witnessed in Murfeesboro, Tennessee and Manhattan, New York.

The timing of all this Islamic hate from American conservatives is curious. It all seems to be happening at the same time that Republicans are pounding their chests about retaking Congress in November. The ugly hatefest against Islam seems to have blossomed immediately after Palin Twittered her "pls refudiate" Tweet.

Probably just a coincidence.

Conservatives and Republicans in America are our Great Defenders and Protectors......and ever since the GOP's Queen Bee, Sister Sarah, told "peaceful Muslims" to "pls refutiate" Park 51.....conservatives and Republicans have responded in defense of America, and the Queen Bee, by smearing, denouncing and just basically hating on Muslims.

Here's a pastor who has a few more church members than the 50 members the hick Pastor Moran claims. Here is "prominent Pastor Robert Jeffress of the First Baptist Church of Dallas".....

Dontcha' just love the Christian love, the Christian longsuffering tolerance for those who don't share the same faith in invisible stuff as they do? Quite impressive, really. No doubt, Jesus would be proud.

Is there evidence that Islam is a religious breeding ground for pedophiliacs?

Robert A. Hunt is a professor of theology at Southern Methodist University and a scholar on Islam. Is he aware of any evidence to support Jeffress' statements on pedophilia? "None whatsoever," he said.

Where is this pedophilia stuff coming from?.....

While Muhammad did marry a 9-year-old as one of his wives, Hunt said it is unfair to apply modern Western standards across cultures and centuries.

Islamic tradition holds that the girl was chosen by God. She became an important religious figure in Islam as a trusted source of sayings from Muhammad.

Muhammad lived during the 8th century.

Professor Hunt goes on....

"There is a very, very small minority of Muslims – radical Islamists or jihadists, they're called – and they draw their power from the assumption that Islam is at war with the West and that the West is at war with Islam.

"Anything that appears to make that more credible to Muslims will increase support for the jihadists."

Today's question: Are conservatives and Republicans spreading the U.S.-troop-endangering message that America is at war with Islam in order to keep their voter base excited and angry enough to return Republicans to Congressional power?

Could it all be just that simple?
