Here's what Fred Thompson's spokesman said July 6th or 7th about Red Truck's lobbying for a pro-choice group in the early 90's....
Thompson spokesman Mark Corallo adamantly denied that Thompson worked for the family planning group. "Fred Thompson did not lobby for this group, period," he said in an e-mail.
In a telephone interview, he added: "There's no documents to prove it, there's no billing records, and Thompson says he has no recollection of it, says it didn't happen." In a separate interview, John H. Sununu, the White House official whom the family planning group wanted to contact, said he had no memory of the lobbying and doubted it took place. Link
Pretty strong denial, no? "....did not lobby for this group, period." Then came the, "well, you can't prove it and Law N' Order boy says he has memory loss" part, "didn't happen".
I bet you can figure what's coming next, huh? Today's NY Times....
According to records from Arent Fox, the law firm based in Washington where Mr. Thompson worked part-time from 1991 to 1994, he charged the organization, the National Family Planning and Reproductive Health Association, about $5,000 for work he did in 1991 and 1992. Link
And here's the good part. The same guy who originally made the complete denial, Mark Corallo, now says this....
“The firm consulted with Fred Thompson,” he said. “It is not unusual for a lawyer to give counsel at the request of colleagues, even when they personally disagree with the issue.”
Liar, liar, Red Truck's pants on fire. Do you know what's not "unusual"? Republicans lying. That's what's not "unusual".
Lying on cue without flinching. That's why Bush Jr. was chosen by the rotten and corrupt Republican machine. And that's the same reason Fred Thompson is being cheered on by the same sleazy anti-American machine now.
