I See Bad People

By The Reverend Published: March 9, 2013

How would you classify people who advocate for cuts to safety net programs at a time in history when the income and wealth disparity gap between the top 1% and all the rest of us is at an all time high?

If you witnessed an expensively-dressed CEO taking a sandwich from a homeless man.....what would you think of that CEO? What would you label that CEO, a maker or a taker?

Some, like The Reverend, would consider a person like that CEO to be a bad person. Not bad in the sense of raping little boys and covering it up.......or lying the nation into a war of choice in which 4500 U.S. soldiers needlessly lost their lives.....but bad in the sense of having an attitude that says, 'f**k everyone else, I'm getting everything I can for myself.'

This week I noticed a shift in tone of the bad people who occupy the Village. Make no mistake here.....these are bad people. With few exceptions recently, the entire teevee, print media landscape has been chock full of bad people oh-so-satisfied-with-themselves over President Obama's imminent capitulation to the hounds of greed who enslave our nation.

It seems that everyone is in total agreement now. Social Security and Medicare, "entitlements", programs for our oldest and most vulnerable citizens, must be drastically "reformed" right now. It's "chained CPI" everywhere you look.

Would it matter, one reporter asked the veteran legislator, if the president were to put chained-CPI — a policy that reconfigures the way the government measures inflation and thus slows the growth of Social Security benefits — on the table?

“Absolutely,” the legislator said. “That’s serious.”

Another reporter jumped in. “But it is on the table! They tell us three times a day that they want to do chained-CPI.”

They....the Obama White House.....tell news reporters "three times a day"......that they want to do what? Reduce the amount of every SS recipient's monthly check by 3%. 6% less if you are fortunate to live longer than 75. Chained CPI sounds high brow and complicated.....but it isn't. It is but a further-enrich-the-rich ploy by bad people who hold a, 'f**k everyone else, I'm getting everything I can for myself', attitude.

These bad people, with their 'f**ck everyone else' attitudes, are starting to smell the blood of geezers in the water and it's driving these evil-doers into an orgiastic frenzy. If vulnerable seniors can be bloodied enough as a result of bad people's hyper-inflated warning cries of "deficits and debt"......then the golden ring of "broadening the base and....lowering tax rates" is most likely a sure thing.

"He's (Obama) reaching out to Democrats who understand we have to make serious progress on long-term entitlement reform and Republicans who realize that if we had that type of entitlement reform, they'd be willing to have tax reform that raises revenues to lower the deficit," White House senior economic official Gene Sperling said....

That from the bad people in Obama's White House. Re-read that nauseating, stench-filled sentence....from an alleged Democratic perspective. The Obama White House is prepared to cut seniors SS checks by 3%....not down the road....not in 10 that Republicans will go along with "tax reform."

And not just bad people willing to place ole Gramps on the train tracks in some larger but still trumped up "tax reform" scheme.....but stupid and/or dishonest people too.

"Tax reform" as Sperling describes is a non-starter for GOP elected officials. I mean, don't be silly.....we're talking about bad people here. Here's the GOP definition of "tax reform"....

Republicans say tax reform should be revenue-neutral. Additional revenues collected by eliminating or curbing tax breaks and deductions should be used to lower rates.

Mitch McConnell....

“I'm in favor of doing tax reform,” he said, “but I think tax reform ought to be revenue-neutral as it was back during the Reagan years....

Boehner and the GOP House....

Chairman Dave Camp, R-Mich., told reporters that House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, supports his effort to complete work on revenue-neutral legislation and has reserved bill number HR 1 as the legislative vehicle.

These very, very bad people....from both sides of the granny-starving aisle....plan to cut the monthly SS checks of millions of seniors to reduce the deficit....while simultaneously LOWERING tax rates on the richest in our country in a larger revenue-neutral tax reform plan. The same richest who have been bathing in low tax rates for over a decade.

Those who defend and support such a societal crime are like sidewalk cheerleaders encouraging passersby to hold that homeless man down so the rich CEO can take his sandwich.
