Kucinich Pulls Impeachment Trigger

By The Reverend Published: November 6, 2007

Dennis Kucinich (D-OH) pulled the trigger and introduced on the House floor today his impeachment of Dick Cheney resolution.

Steny Hoyer(D-MD) immediately moved to table Kucinich's resolution. A vote on the motion to table looked like it was moving toward passage when GOP members were rallied by John

Boner Boehner(D-OH) to vote no on the tabling motion. The motion to table was defeated.

Whereupon Steny Hoyer moved to refer Kucinich's impeachment resolution to the House Judiciary Committee. That motion eventually passed.

The thinking of the GOP appears to be that impeaching Dick Cheney is an unpopular position and that debating it on the House floor somehow will be embarassing to the Dems. A spokesman from The Hill on C-Span just said that impeaching the Vice President was "out of the mainstream thinking". Hoyer apparently has bought into the GOP bullsh*t....yet again, that would explain the motion to table.

From Raw Story....

Despite its apparent unpopularity among Democratic legislators, the Kucinich proposal is not necessarily out of line with American public opinion: a July poll from American Research Group found that 54% of those surveyed favored the "US House of Representatives beginning impeachment proceedings against Vice President Dick Cheney."

John Conyers has just now said that Nancy Pelosi cannot give the Kucinich resolution floor time without hurting the House's "productivity". They are extremely busy, apparently.

How it is that a government divided into one camp of fascists and their enablers....and another of spineless and timid p*ssies and group-triangulating-thinkers with their going to somehow survive with America's Constitution and rule of law in all still an unresolved mystery to me.
