All the Kewlest Village Kidz love themselves some bipartisanship. If those silly, silly congresscritters would just do the bipartisanship fist bump and keep those wretched tax rates low, lower and lowest for "job creators".....then all things in the cosmos would once again be in sync.
No matter that the not-quite-American in the Oval Office won his second landslide electoral college win in 4 years...or that Democrats gained Senate and House seats in a cycle....and an economy....when odds were against that happening. No matter....because the Village has determined, not sure exactly how, that what American voters were really voting for was....can you guess?.....bipartisanship.
Personally, I'm not a fan of bipartisanship. Here's why....
The only issue in which both Democrats and Republicans agree 100% on is killing Muslims in Muslim lands. Bipartisan bliss. Furthermore, the same cats who are fussin' and a-fightin' over tax rates, spending cuts and we're-goddamn-serious-about-deficits.....voted the first week of December 98-0 in the Senate to appropriate $631 billion to pay for Empire expansion.
It doesn't get any more bipartisan than that.
What establishment pundits and players keep telling us is that bipartisanship is the only way to fly. They just know that a bipartisan vote like the vote on the National Defense Authorization Act......a 98-0 bipartisan vote....means that both sides are working hard, hard, hard in the interest of the country.....and not just for the sake of political posturing. And that's always good, good, good for our great nation.
Except when it isn't.
The United States has been waging a war on the world for 11 years running.....and there is no end in sight. But all Senators from both sides voted 98-0 to keep doing what we've been doing.....so, it must be working.....right?
What our bipartisan brethren in Congress continue to agree on has only created more Muslims willing to kill Americans. Not less, more. The alleged war on terror.....is, in reality, a war to encourage more terrorism. And more terrorism, instead of less, gives the United States all the more reason to occupy and attack even more Muslims in Muslim countries, as we've been doing for the last 11 years.
It's the blissful bipartisanship of bloodlust.....the bipartisanship of Empire expansion.
Evidence? You need evidence, you say?
Dhamar, Yemen — A rickety Toyota truck packed with 14 people rumbled down a desert road from the town of Radda, which al-Qaeda militants once controlled. Suddenly a missile hurtled from the sky and flipped the vehicle over.
Chaos. Flames. Corpses. Then, a second missile struck.
Within seconds, 11 of the passengers were dead, including a woman and her 7-year-old daughter. A 12-year-old boy also perished that day, and another man later died from his wounds.
"Since the attack, militants in the tribal areas surrounding Radda have gained more recruits and supporters in their war against the Yemeni government and its key backer, the United States. The two survivors and relatives of six victims, interviewed separately and speaking to a Western journalist about the incident for the first time, expressed willingness to support or even fight alongside AQAP, as the al-Qaeda group is known.
"'Our entire village is angry at the government and the Americans,' Mohammed said. 'If the Americans are responsible, I would have no choice but to sympathize with al-Qaeda because al-Qaeda is fighting America.'
Nothing unusual about any of this. If Canada was conducting rocket-firing drone attacks in, say, Minnesota, Minnesotans would sympathize with any "rebel" group willing to fight Canadians. If West Virginians were launching helicopter gunship attacks inside Ohio to go after the terror of drug pushers.....and killed innocent Ohio women and children in the process....Ohioans would seek revenge.
So too Muslims in Muslim countries.
I submit to you that what America did after 9-11 in launching the ridiculously named "war on terror" was the beginning of a world war in Muslim countries for the sole purpose of creating more Islamic extremists. More threats to America. After 11 years.....bipartisanship or not.....that's the only reasonable conclusion one can draw.
"They" have the desire to kill "us" because "we" kill their women and children. Ain't all that complicated. But the bipartisan-bliss crowd....unmoved by the random slaughter of Muslim women and children by our super-duper-accurate drone strikes....unanimously hold hands and shout...."keep it up....here's another $631 billion for next year."
Keep all of this in mind as we wind down this year's bipartisan effort by the usual suspects to avoid going over the "fiscal cliff." Bipartisanship may get you an agreement.......but that bipartisan agreement may haunt Americans for a decade.....or perhaps even longer.
