Limbaugh's Thin White Skin

By The Reverend Published: August 31, 2011

But Snerdly, you know I'm right here. In the end Powell will vote for Obama. There's no doubt. The titular head of the Republican Party, the ideal model Republican, will vote for Obama. Melanin is thicker than water folks. And that's what will happen."

Rick And Rubio

By The Reverend Published: August 26, 2011

Sounds like a sitcom title....Rick and Rubio, premiering next fall,...or maybe not.

Governor Rick Perry of the Lonesome State of Texas is a throwback. You know, gunslinging, horse riding, boot-wearing, West Texas-drawling kind of a Cowpoke. He ain't like them slickster guys in the northeast....not Governor Rick.

Perry: U.S. Is Unconstitutional

By The Reverend Published: August 24, 2011

Texas Governor Rick Perry, GOP 2012 presidential frontrunner now by double digits over Mitt Romney, has clearly articulated what the real problem is with the United States. The United States, itself, according to Perry, is unconstitutional.

In typical Tea Party fashion, Perry promises to "take the country back" from it's unconstitutional self. Ultra-conservatives are flocking to Perry's candidacy....the same conservatives who identify themselves as modern day Paul Reveres, modern day patriots determined to defeat the unconstitutionality of the current U.S. and replace it with the real, genuine, authentic, divine constitutional country George Washington and Jesus of Nazareth chiseled into Plymouth Rock upon arrival to North America's eastern seaboard.

Not All Tax Relief Created Equal

By The Reverend Published: August 22, 2011

1 On the 8th day, god cut taxes. 2 And god looked at the taxes he had cut and saw that they were good. 3 And it came to pass that there were some who complained to god that one specific payroll tax cut was not all that good. 4 "Why do you complain of my payroll tax cut?", god inquired.

Dishonest Corporate Tools

By The Reverend Published: August 19, 2011

The stunt known as the "super committee" of 12 congressional figures, 6 from each political party, has been purposely designed by both sides to avoid party and lawmaker responsibility for passing legislation which a wide majority of American citizens do not want passed.

That's what bipartisan has come to mean. Passing stuff the electorate is overwhelmingly matter how many stunts are needed to get the job done.

Less Popular Than Atheists

I just couldn't let this one pass by without commentary.

The NY Times' had an op-ed on Tuesday by David Campbell and Robert Putnam describing and explaining their study of the Tea Party and it's relationship to the Republican Party. Here's the zinger paragraph that everyone needs to know about....

Stiffnecked Morons

By The Reverend Published: August 12, 2011

I watched about 20 minutes of the Iowa GOP presidential candidates "debate" last evening. I wasn't impressed. But, then, I knew I wouldn't be.

Except for a few sparks of true insight by Ron Paul concerning our failed and disgraceful foreign policy...every candidate, with the possible exception of Jon Huntsman, simply let go and let their full freak-flags fly. Last night's GOP debate was all the evidence a person needs to conclude that the Republican Party, as politically disfigured and hideous as it has become, is in dire need of reforming.

Obama, The Tea Partier

By The Reverend Published: August 11, 2011

I am convinced now that Barack Obama's only real goal as president is to satisfy the movers and shakers of Wall Street. I suppose in the modern American era, that's the primary goal of all elected presidents. Wall Street and multi-nationals pay for the presidential campaigns, and so all modern presidents find themselves beholding to the ones who brung them to the dance.

The evidence proving that Barack Obama is really only a hired hand of Wall Street crooks and multi-national corporations has been on display in the contrivance formerly known as raising the debt ceiling.

Wisconsin Working Families Lose

By The Reverend Published: August 10, 2011

You may remember Wisconsin GOP Governor Scott Walker's declaration of war on state workers from earlier in the year. The emotionless, and some say heartless, Walker led Wisconsin state Republicans in a successful campaign to eliminate collective bargaining rights for state employees. Other heartless, trickle downer GOP governors, like John Kasich in Ohio, and Rick Snyder in Michigan...followed Scott Walker's lead....making many wonder whether the GOP didn't conspire together between the midterm election and inauguration day to bust up Democratic-supporting public unions.

I don't "wonder" about a conspiracy.

Working Out As Planned

By The Reverend Published: August 9, 2011

Don't you just love it when a well thought out plan comes together?

That's how members of the Republican Party have been feeling lately. Good about themselves. It's the way Tony Soprano and his cohorts felt after killing an enemy or hijacking a tractor-trailer full of plasma teevees. Satisfied with their performances.

Catfood Or Caliphate....

By The Reverend Published: August 5, 2011

In an American era when what voters want has absolutely no meaning,...carries no weight whatsoever....almost anything can happen.

Our overlords have just agreed to permit Congress to appoint a 12 member Patsy Committee to take the blame for cutting Social Security and Medicare. No new taxes, of course, will be considered......and no tax loophole closings either....because if taxes were raised on the rich or loopholes closed for the rich...then America would not be free. Islamic extremists hate us don'tcha know.....because of our, increasing taxes on the rich would, in fact, be appeasing our enemies. See how that all works?

Those Jobs Must Be Around Here Somewhere

By The Reverend Published: August 3, 2011

In the end, as Glenn Greenwald points out, President Obama got the plan he was looking for all along. Obama may have wanted to address more revenues through "reforming" tax code loopholes....but he didn't fight very hard for that. No, Obama wanted a "big" package of spending cuts. In addition, Obama put Social Security and Medicare "on the table" for the "Super Congress" of 12 stooges to "reform" before year's end when they cut another $1.5 trillion of "belt tightening."

Yes, the Tea Party was permitted to take the credit (or blame) for ending any hope of economic recovery....but the final plan was Obama's all along. Barack Obama should now do the right thing and run for re-election as a Republican. With perhaps the exception of ending DADT, everything Obama has done as president would have been done by any garden variety Republican president.

Agreeing To End The Economic Recovery

By The Reverend Published: August 1, 2011

It appears as if our born-again, bipartisan debt and deficit hawks have reached an agreement to end the fragile economic recovery. It took weeks and weeks of theatrical playacting to arrive at a consensus....but by god, officials from both parties have now agreed to starve the federal beast just enough for our teetering economy to fall back into official recession. Smack dab in the middle of the nastiest jobless recovery of my lifetime, Serious patriots from both sides have apparently agreed to INCREASE unemployment.

Congratulations. A job well done.
