Here's Portage County Tea Party Executive Director Tom Zawistowski announcing that his group will be training and placing "poll watchers" in specific Portage County voting districts.....
“We have been concerned about the growing perception in our county, our state and our country, that there is wide-spread voter fraud in our elections. When we held our eighteen township outreach meetings this year we would ask citizens if they were concerned about their vote not being counted or about voter fraud. Every time 75% of the people would raise their hand. That is unacceptable, and quite frankly that perception is inaccurate. Yes, the national media has exposed some sensational examples of voter fraud, but we do not believe that type of activity is happening in Portage County.”
Zawistowski went on to say, ”Unfortunately perception is reality, so our job is to give voters an accurate perception of the voting process. Therefore, with the cooperation of the Portage County Republican Party and the Portage County Board of Elections, we are going to train common citizens to be what are called ‘Poll Observers’ to observe the vote on November 2nd. They will have the ability to report any voting irregularities that they observe. We are confident that those citizens will see with their own eyes that the vote in Portage County is conducted in a fair and totally professional manner, and they will then be able to assure their fellow citizens that only valid votes are counted.”
Let's see if I have this straight. Mr. Zawistowski agrees that voter fraud has been non-existent in Portage County. But the "perception" by a handful of Portage County Tea Party members is that there is definitely a problem with voter fraud in Portage County. A "perception."
Mr. Zawistowski goes on to say that "perception is reality" today and, therefore, because perception has now become reality, his "grassroots" "common people" Tea Party group is making it "their job" to send Tea Party poll watchers to "assure" other Tea Party members that "only valid votes are counted."
I hope Mr. Zawistowski didn't injure himself carrying that load of horsesh*t around.
Here's what Mr. Zawistowski is REALLY doing.....
As I've been informing you for months, the Tea Parties are being funded and organized by wealthy conservative donors. The folks who are giving Mr. Zawistowski his marching orders are from a group called Let Freedom Ring, led by Colin Hanna. This Colin Hanna....
April 15th, from a Colin Hanna appearance on Hardball....
"Obama and those supporters around him have not answered perfectly simple and straightforward questions that would have put this to rest long ago. Where is the proper documentation?"
For the uninitiated.....that's "birther" talk. The man giving Portage County Tea Party's executive director his marching orders believes that Barack Obama is an undocumented alien who isn't legally president.
Now, here are the marching orders....
This past Saturday, the 16th, an ACTION ALERT was sent out by Tea Party Patriots, a far right group whose partners include....wait for it....Let Freedom Ring.....as well as Dick Armey's FreedomWorks, Michelle Malkin and Redstate.com, among others.
We are calling all Florida and Ohio volunteers to sign up by Monday, October 18, 2010 in order to meet the deadline. We need volunteers in other states, but the priority this weekend is to sign up if you are in Ohio or Florida. (Click here to volunteer)
Tea Party Patriots powered by our friends at Let Freedom Ring are looking for super-volunteers who will be technology-empowered poll watchers helping turnout every single Tea-Party friendly voter and bringing sunlight and accountability into the polling place on Election Day.
With our GOTV test program we need super-volunteers with either a smart-phone or internet connected lap top to take a four hour shift at polls in one of 21 congressional districts in 8 key states. We need volunteers in all fifty states who can focus on voting integrity.
What Mr. Zawistowski in Portage County announced he was doing by placing poll watchers in specific voting districts is not the truth. He told Ohio Free Press that his group was addressing the inaccurate "perception" of voter fraud that his small band of Tea Partiers in Portage County were oh-so-worried about.
But what Zawistowski is really doing with this announcement is helping to orchestrate a Republican get-out-the-vote effort from inside the polling precincts.
They need "technology-empowered" "super-volunteers" on election day inside precincts "helping turn out every single Tea Party friendly vote."
Why does the Tea Party "need super-volunteers with either a smart-phone or internet connected lap top to take a four hour shift at polls in one of 21 congressional districts in 8 key states...?"
For their "GOTV test program."
The Portage Tea Party's Mr. Zawistowski was not being completely candid when he spoke to the Ohio Free Press about placing Tea Party "poll watchers" inside contested Ohio voting districts on November 2nd. Zawistowski said that it was all about addressing inaccurate voter fraud "perceptions" by Tea members. Definitely a fig leaf.....and not a very good one at that.
The truth is that the TP poll watchers scheme has been handed down as part of national Tea Party marching orders to enhance Republicans chances on election day in close contests with their get-out-the-Tea Party-vote program operating from inside voter precincts.
One final note: The "technology-empowered" and "super-volunteers with lap tops" stuff is for the purpose of obtaining "evidence" should a Republican or Tea Party candidate find themselves in an extremely close contest on election day.
In other words.....this is the phony Brooks Brothers Riot, the Dade and Broward County shenanigans of the 2000 Florida presidential recount.....writ large.
