The current leader in the GOP race for president is none other than Rudy Giuliani. Mr. Mayor, he is called, among other names, reminding us, naturally, that he was the mayor of New York when the Towers came down. Which somehow qualifies him to become president....I guess.
Anyway, Rudy is quite a guy. I am still amazed at how he has been cheered on after his debate comments calling for more "nation building" in the middle east. More war, not less. A wider conflict rather than a narrower one. But hey, Rudy's a neo-conservative true believer so I suppose I shouldn't be surprised.
Somehow, I wasn't prepared for Rudy's latest incoherence ......
"Neither one of these two wars – the one in Afghanstan/Pakistan or the one in Iraq – was nearly at the level of the planning we had done for the two wars we would have to fight at once," he said. "Both of them would be considered small wars in comparison to that. So it would seem to me that we should have organized ourselves so that we could accomplish in Iraq what we had to accomplish without taking anything away from accomplishing in Afghanistan and Pakistan what we had to accomplish." I gotta' tell ya'...The Reverend is fluent in neo-con speak. It has taken me years to get it down, it's a difficult language don't you know....but this statement by Rudy must have been spoken in some new DaVinci Code dialect of neo-conservative speak because I can't make heads or tails out of it.
Can someone help me out here?
