Weekend Wingnut Update

By The Reverend Published: April 9, 2010

President Obama signed an historic nuclear weapons reduction agreement with Russian leader Medvedev yesterday. Naturally, to Fox and Fiends, that means that Obama is purposely weakening the U.S. and welcoming our "enemies" to nuke us.....I mean, helles belles Loretta, what else could it mean?....

Same propagandistic bullsh*t, different day. Or..."Fair and Balanced Bullsh*t".....The Reverend reports, you decide.

Eric Burns of MediaMatters.com calls Glenn Beck of Fox and wingnut fame, "the single most dangerous person in America".

Here's a sampling of Beckerheadisms, from a Forbes piece....

"This President, I think, has exposed himself as a guy over and over and over again who has a deep-seated hatred for white people or the white culture" (2009). "Al Gore's not going to be rounding up Jews and exterminating them. It is the same tactic, however. The goal is different. The goal is globalization" (2007). "I'm thinking about killing Michael Moore, and I'm wondering if I could kill him myself or if I would need to hire somebody to do it(2005).

Does Glenny take what he spouts daily, seriously? Is he so emotionally and patriotically attached to America and it's political process, that all his tears and dire warnings about Obama and the socialist Democrats destroying the Homeland are only motivated by his oh-so-heartfelt sincerity over the future of the nation?

"I could give a flying crap about the political process." "We're an entertainment company,"

Guess not.

When Republican strategist, David Frum, stated recently that the Republican Party thought Fox was serving their interests, (which would be bad enough) but in actuality, it's the other way around.....here's one reason why....

Glenn Beck Inc., formally known as Mercury Radio Arts (after Orson Welles' Mercury Theatre on the Air), pulled in $32 million in revenue during the 12 months ended Mar. 1. You may love or hate him for his outlandish words, but that is how he gets an audience..

Beck, Limbaugh, Palin and others in the rightwing circus are simply exploiting the sore losers from the 2008 election for personal fame and fortune. The "political process"? They could give a "flying crap" about any of that stuff. Show us the money.

On Wednesday there was word out amongst liberals warning of a black hole forming over Minnesota with the potential of sucking in the entire universe. Sounded serious. A perfect wingnut storm situation had formed which included the Unholy Trinity of Opportunists....Sean Hannity, Sarah Palin and Michelle Bachmann all being in the same place at the same time. There's no information available on whether or not the Homeland Security Department issued a timely enough warning allowing for Minnesotans to evacuate, you know, pre-emptively.

Palin-Bachmann 2012? That's the ticket.

Watching the two GOP wingnut darlings on the same stage made me feel bad and sad for the modern Republican Party, or what's left of it. It made me ask myself when, exactly, did the GOP lose their goddamn mind....but alas, it was not an easy question.

The leader of the modern Republican Party, the person whose ring must be dutifully kissed by all authentic GOP'ers, only makes $20-something million per year for his 3 hour per day radio blitz encouraging hate and violence in America. To this day, I do not understand the mindset of Rush Limbaugh's listeners. Rush is, and always has been, no matter how many times people like Chris Matthews call him a "genius", a f*cking carnival barker. A freakshow huckster.

To say Limbaugh has always been disgusting is like saying the sun sets in the west. Since Obama became president, however, the oxycontin addict has often likened the policies of America's new president to telling citizens to "bend over and grab their ankles." Not sure what Mr. Limbaugh is getting at.....perhaps he is flashing back to stuff said during his Viagara-infused, Dominican Republic vacation a while back. Not sure. Personal sexual preferences are not really my concern. But I'm worried. I'm worried about Rush's apparent obsession with violent sex.....

Not that I have any personal experience here.....but doesn't all this whacky wingnuttery look like something out of a Jimmy Hendrix-powered, hallucinagenic dreamscape?
