Taking it All

By The Reverend Published: August 24, 2015

At 8 AM stock futures are looking a bit scary. DOW futures are down 500, Nasdaq futures are down 200, and S&P futures are down 70.

Could be a huge opening bell head fake.....but I highly doubt it after last week's market magic....

Stocks saw their biggest weekly declines since 2011 with both the Dow Jones Industrial Average DJIA, -3.12% and the S&P 500 index SPX, -3.19% falling 5.8%, and the Nasdaq Composite Index COMP, -3.52% dropping 6.8%. The Dow industrials and the Nasdaq entered correction territory with both indexes more than 10% below their 52-week highs.

With that, traders are scrambling like mad with options plays anticipating what they perceive will be wide swings in the market over the next month.

Politically Incorrect: The New Conservative Cool

By The Reverend Published: August 23, 2015

Wikipedia....Political correctness (adjectivally, politically correct, commonly abbreviated to PC) is an ordinarily pejorative term used to criticize language, actions, or policies seen as being excessively calculated to not offend or disadvantage any particular group of people in society.

Merriam Webster defines it this way......agreeing with the idea that people should be careful to not use language or behave in a way that could offend a particular group of people.

A good portion of Donald Trump's early primary success on the GOP side of things is being attributed to Trump's refusal to be "politically correct." At Big Top Pee Wee-Cleveland, Mr. Trump explained.......

“I think the big problem this country has — is being politically correct. And I don’t frankly have time for total political correctness. And to be honest with you, this country doesn’t have time either.”

Freedom-Spreading In Youngstown

By The Reverend Published: August 22, 2015

The banty-rooster impersonator, John Kasich, has a burr up his hiney over schoolteachers.....

“If I were, not president, if I were king in America, I would abolish all teachers’ lounges where they sit together and worry about ‘woe is us’,” the GOP presidential candidate said.

Tell me, which group of employees doesn't sit around in the break room bitching about how they're being mistreated by their employer? In my experience, it is a national pastime.

But you see, Kasich still has a sore hiney over Ohio's public employee unions knockout punch effort in repealing SB5 in a statewide referendum. Kasich, though calming his supply-sider ass down a bit in order to get re-elected, has never forgotten the black eye unionized teachers in the state gave him just a couple of short years ago. Kasich holds grudges....and those grudges have spilled over into his sure-to-fail bid for the GOP presidential nomination.

Thought Of The Day

By The Reverend Published: August 21, 2015

Subject: Hillary e-mails.

The people from the right who remind us daily that government is the problem and never the solution, that the answers to all economic and social problems are found in limiting the size and scope of the federal government, and that government bureaucrats with all their government bureacratic rules are killing America and the American Spirit by a billion tiny cuts........those same people on the right have worked themselves into a self-righteous frenzy over Obama administration policy rules for White House employees as they relate to e-mails. Out of the blue comes a whirlwind of newfound love, devotion and deep respect for the minutia of government bureaucratic regulations.from right wing conservatives who hate every thing about the federal government.

Here's what provoked my thought of the day. Now, even Eugene Robinson has bought the bullshite.

My god, it is said by Villagers that Morning Blow sets the tone for each "news" day's political narrative. Is it any wonder, then, that every thing is so phucked up?

Anchors Away

By The Reverend Published: August 21, 2015

A new distraction has entered the presidential primary campaign....

At a press conference Wednesday, a reporter asked Trump if he was aware the term "anchor baby" was an offensive and hurtful term.

"You mean it's not politically correct, and yet everybody uses it?"

White conservatives who are taking their country back, and the Republicans who represent them, often refer to "anchor babies". It's meant to be a pejorative....and now, thanks to the GOP frontrunner, Donald Trump...that pejorative is being mainstreamed.

AP Purposely Distorts To Keep Warmongerer Hopes Alive

By The Reverend Published: August 20, 2015

I knew when the usual suspects began throwing around the phrase "side deals" when referring to the Iranian agreement as it relates to the IAEA that something phony was in the air.

You see, the two words "side deals" immediately conjures up the picture of the Kenyan Usurper and his sidekick, Lurch Kerry, hiding something from the American people concerning the Iranian deal. These alleged "side deals" were said to be between the International Atomic Energy Agency and Iranian leaders.

On Monday, Mitch McConnell, in an AP account, is reported to have said the following.....

"I hope we can defeat it (the Iranian deal), but the procedure is obviously stacked in the president's favor," McConnell told reporters afterward. "We'll see."

"Full Voucherization" & Revoking "Birthright Citizenship"

By The Reverend Published: August 20, 2015

What does it say about a political party when it's frontrunning candidate for the GOP presidential nomination full-throatedly supports rescinding a constitutional amendment?

Donald Trump's plan to end "birthright citizenship", a clearly defined right guaranteed in the 14th amendment, has now been endorsed or partially-endorsed by Scott Walker, Ted Cruz, Rick Santorum, Lindsey Graham and Chris Christie.

And what can be said about a political party who repeatedly bashes a "lawless" president for issuing legal executive orders over immigration ...and yet at the same time argues for eliminating provisions of the Bill of Rights?

Further, what best describes a political party whose presumptive establishment presidential candidate endorses "full voucherization" of public K-12 schools?

Today's Blogpost Sponsored By The Letters...F...B...I

By The Reverend Published: August 19, 2015

The Morning Blow team held a pep rally yesterday sponsored, I guess, by the letters....F..B..I.....you know, just like in those old Sesame Street shows for kids. Blow, Mika, David Ignatius, Jeremy Peters, and Chuck Todd were the cheerleaders at the pep rally. While each cheerleader voiced the letters F...B...I, in turn, the others wagged their heads and put on their best distraught faces.

The pep rally invited pre-eminent blowhards like Bob Woodward and Karen Tumulty on to explain how very goddamn Serious this whole Hillary e-mail stuff is....and everyone agreed after the pom-poms were put away......that Hillary simply wasn't taking this "scandal" seriously enough, and that the letters F...B...I...required that Hillary wake the hell up and reckon with the terrible, terrible political predicament she had put herself in.

I wonder why Hillary is being so dismissive of those letters.....

Officials have said the FBI investigation is preliminary and have stressed that Clinton is not a target of the investigation.

GOP Candidates Find Winning Formula?

By The Reverend Published: August 18, 2015

Reince Priebus, RNC Chair, September, 2013.....giving his recommendations to Republican Party candidates in the wake of an "autoposy" report he ordered following Romney's disappointing loss to Barack Obama November, 2012.....

If you’re not engaging with the Hispanic community, you better get to work.

No party can fully represent the American people if it doesn’t build relationships with the Hispanic community.

Here's Priebus again, this time just over a year ago....

Trump Blames Immigrants For Income Inequality

By The Reverend Published: August 17, 2015

Donald Trump's GOP frontrunner candidacy now comes with a position paper.....on immigration. Alabama GOP Senator Jeff Beauregard Sessions just loves Trump's newly released immigration policy, "exactly what America needs" ....but Huckleberry Graham described Trump's immigration policy as "going backward on immigration."

Conservative America's sweetheart, Ann Coulter, took a look at Trump's immigration plan and decided Trump was the second coming of Ronald Reagan....Twittersponding wildly and excitedly.....

IT'S MORNING IN AMERICA, AGAIN! @realDonaldTrump's Immigration policy paper....We haven't seen anything like this since Dwight Eisenhower's "Operation Wetback." Even @MittRomney wasn't this pro-American on immigration....Nothing else matters. Unless we stop 3rd worlders pouring in, bloc-voting 4 the Dems, conservatives lose EVERYTHING....These morons with their little position papers on how to replace Obamacare, deal with Iran and defund planned parenthood...too stupid to grasp that they'll never be in a position to do any of that unless we stop foreigners from voting in our elections....Without @realDonaldTrump's immigration plan, it will be nothing but Obamas and Hillarys as president for the rest of our lives. #USAmatters

Notice in that word mess that Coulter lays down the real reason U.S. Republicans oppose comprehensive immigration reform that includes a pathway to citizenship....."Unless we stop 3rd worlders pouring in, bloc-voting 4 the Dems, conservatives lose EVERYTHING."
