About 5,000 Ohio voters sent erroneous poll reminders

COLUMBUS: Nearly 5,000 central Ohio voters got official reminder notices about Election Day with faulty polling place information.

The Columbus Dispatch reported Tuesday that the mailings from the county elections board in Columbus used the old names for two public schools that had been given new ones since the May primary. For example, Eastmoor Middle School in Columbus is now the Columbus City Preparatory School for Boys, but the reminder card didn't reflect that.

Voters in one precinct on the east side of Columbus were instructed to go to the polling place for a neighboring precinct, and vice versa.

The elections board sent out a second round of notices to explain and correct the errors.
