The documentary ALEC Exposed will be shown at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Laborers International Union Local 894 Hall, 720 Wolf Ledges in Akron.
The movie focuses on the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC), an organization that critics say provides an opportunity for corporations to give state legislators the law changes they desire that benefit them. ALEC, though, describes itself as a non-partisan group of conservative state lawmakers who believe in "limited government, free markets, federalism and individual liberty."
Summit County Progressive Democrats and the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) Local 1360 are screening the film.
A discussion will follow the movie. The event is free and open to the public.
