Tallmadge voters will not have to bring a pen into the polling booth after all.
Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner ruled Friday that interim Mayor Dave Kline (a Democrat) and councilman Jack Sarver (a Republican) can both be on the November ballot.
The pair are vying to serve out the final year of a four-year term that was vacated when former mayor Christopher Grimm took another job.
Both political parties recruited a write-in candidate in case Brunner decided against allowing Kline and/or Sarver on the ballot.
