Alan Canfora, the long-time chairman of the Barberton Democratic Party, will remain in this role for the next two years.
Canfora, the party's chairman since 1992, was unanimously re-elected in a recent meeting. He points with pride to how no Republicans have been elected in the city under his watch.
The party's other officers are: Michael Soyars, vice-chairman; James Lazar, treasurer; Gene Sargent, secretary; and Alice Marson, recording secretary.
The party said in a news release that President Barack Obama's campaign soon will re-establish an office in a downtown storefront. This has been a tradition in Barberton since 1992.
