Adam Brandon, executive director of FreedomWorks, a major national Tea Party supporter, will be the keynote speaker at the Portage County TEA Party's annual fundraising dinner on Dec. 6.
Brandon grew up in Cleveland and said in a press release that he is looking forward to returning to Northeast Ohio. He said he will have some added pressure because his mother and father will attend the event.
Brandon will discuss the changing political environment and how that will impact grass roots efforts in the 2014 and 2016 elections.
"It has been increasingly clear that it is no longer Republican versus Democrat, but all of America versus Washington," Brandon said. "Groups like the Portage County TEA Party are what it's going to take to get Washington back on track."
Tom Zawistowski, executive director of the Portage County TEA Party, said he is excited for Brandon to provide insight on the future direction of the tea party movement.
The event is private and only open to members of the Portage County TEA Party and their guests. To join, visit the group's website.
