A Green native is serving as an intern this summer for U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown.
Kyle Zurz, 21, is majoring in international studies at Bowling Green State University. He's interning for Brown while also taking classes at George Mason University.
"I now feel prepared for any future career related endeavours," Zurz said in a press release.
Brown said in the release that internships allow students to gain "invaluable experience while working on a wide range of projects."
Interns work with staff members to address constituent requests. A typical day could include speaking with constituents on the phone, greeting visitors to the office, organizing incoming correspondence, attending Senate committee hearings and briefings, and leading tours of the Capitol Building.
Zurz is the son of Kim Zurz, who is deputy director of the Summit County Board of Elections. The family formerly lived in Green and now resides in Coventry.
