Hurry if you want to vote early; deadlines fast approaching for May primary

By Stephanie Warsmith Published: May 1, 2014

If you plan to vote early for the May 6 primary, you’d better hurry.

In-person early voting will be offered at elections boards until 5 p.m. today, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m. to noon Saturday.

Mail-in absentee ballots must be postmarked by Monday. Early ballots may be dropped off at elections boards on Election Day until the close of polls at 7:30 p.m., but won’t be accepted at polling locations.

So far, 5,246 voters in Summit County have requested absentee ballots, down significantly from the 9,000 who asked for early ballots in the 2010 primary, according to Joe Masich, director of the Summit County elections board.

The Summit County elections board is located at 470 Grant St. and the phone number is 330-643-5200.
