Husted sets new early voting hours in light of federal court decision

By Stephanie Warsmith Published: June 17, 2014

In response to a federal court decision, Ohio Secretary of State Jon Husted announced early voting hours today that include the weekend and Monday before elections.

Husted said the new hours will apply to all future elections, including the Aug. 5 special election.

Husted had previously set early voting hours that were in line with the recommendation of a bipartisan, statewide group of election officials. The Democratic Party challenged these hours and a federal judge sided with the party.

The hours for in-person early voting in the days leading up to the Nov. 4 election will be: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the Saturday before; 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on the Sunday before; and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the Monday before.
