U.S. Rep. David Joyce took another step to promote bipartisanship Thursday, participating in a press conference to announce a legislative reform package of nine bills aimed at cutting government waste.
This was the first press conference by a group called No Labels that is made up of Democratic and Republican House and Senate members who have committed to working together to try to solve problems.
"I came to Washington to be a problem solver, not part of the problem," Joyce, R-Russell Township, said in a news release. "It's time for Washington to work together to tackle our biggest challenges and actually get something done."
Joyce, a freshman lawmaker, was among the members of Congress who agreed to sit with someone from the other party at the State of the Union Address earlier this year.
