Meeting tonight to explore starting new Akron radio station

By Stephanie Warsmith Published: July 31, 2013

A meeting will be held at 5:30 p.m. today at 190 N. Union St. to discuss establishing a low power radio station for Akron.

The station would provide a place for alternative voices to be heard, Akron attorney Warner Mendenhall said in a news release this afternoon.

Local volunteers are being assisted through the Prometheus Project, Mendenhall said.

Anyone interested in helping with the project is invited to attend, Mendenhall said.
