Munroe Falls fighting continues

By Stephanie Warsmith Published: January 30, 2014

In case you missed Beacon Journal reporter's Paula Schelis' story today, the gridlock is continuing on Munroe Falls council.

Council members have been unable to decide on a new member to fill a vacant seat, continually deadlocking 3-3. As a result, Mayor Frank Larson will have to break the tie and pick the new member.

This is similar to the continual ties on the Summit County Board of Elections, made up of two Democrats and two Republicans, that must be decided by Ohio Secretary of State Jon Husted.

It's pretty unusual, though, for a local government body to be unable to choose a new member.

Larson told Schleis he wants to get this done so that council can decide on a new president, which the body also has been deadlocked on. So, the council has been unable to pick a new member or a president. This will be one to watch.
