Obama's campaign holds watch parties

By Stephanie Warsmith Published: September 5, 2012

President Barack Obama's campaign will hold numerous watch parties at campaign offices and homes in the Akron-Canton area for his nomination acceptance speech Thursday night.

The parties are listed on the campaign's website. Click on "get involved" and then "find an upcoming event" and then search by zip code. Most of the parties start at 6 or 7 p.m. Obama is expected to speak around 10:30 p.m.

Volunteers will watch the convention coverage and Obama's speech and then make plans for the coming weekend, according to the campaign.

"If you've been waiting to get involved, this is the moment," the campaign says on the website.
