Politico: Record spending on one day
Politics and elections Web site Politico is reporting that a one-day record for spending by independent groups was broken again this election season.
In Colorado on one day, $3.6 million was spent to influence one race.
The flash of Colorado cash was part of a record-smashing one-day spending spree of $39.8 million in so-called independent expenditures, nearly two-thirds more than the previous one-day high of $24.3 million set a week earlier on Oct. 12.
