Portage County Tea Party knocking on doors Saturday

By Paula Published: September 23, 2010

From the Portage County Tea Party Web site:

On Saturday, September 25, 2010, our organization will launch the most important event in our organization's history - the 2010 Patriot Walk.

For the first time, Portage County Citizens, not political parties, will start to deliver our list of conservative candidates door-to-door to every home in Portage County. Our organization has 196 teams, consisting of over 350 volunteers from our membership, scheduled to go door-to-door in every Township in Portage County starting this Saturday morning. With good weather, we hope to visit over 10,000 homes on Saturday alone.

Then we will have a celebration luncheon for our volunteers, to thank them for their efforts. They will be given a free lunch of pizza, donated by PizzaHut, salad, and dessert, as well as some fun activities.

Saturday, September 25th is just the kick-off day. We will keep delivering our door hangers to homes all the way to election day. The point is to get people to come out to vote, and vote for our candidates. If you want to take part in our door-to-door effort, if not this weekend, at any time before the election, just send us an email to All volunteers get an official 2010 Patriot Walk T-Shirt.

It is time for all Patriots to take action to take back control of our government at the county, state and federal levels. We will not have the government we want and need until we take ownership of it and use the ballot box to control it. Returning the balance of power from the Governing Class to the people starts this November and our 2010 Patriot Walk is the most powerful tool we have to achieving our goals.
