Race to watch: Barberton clerk

By Stephanie Warsmith Published: June 11, 2013

The filing deadline for the September primary in Summit County is 4 p.m. tomorrow and the race to watch is: Barberton clerk.

Several well-known Democrats are reportedly interested, including state Rep. Zack Milkovich, Summit County Councilman Tim Crawford and former Summit County Councilman Jon Poda.

This would set up an interesting Democratic primary.

Diana Stevenson, a Republican and the current Barberton Municipal Court Clerk, obviously wants to hold onto the job, which brings with it numerous patronage positions. She's already sent out a mailing.

The filing deadline is 4 p.m. Wednesday.
