By Stephanie Warsmith Published: May 13, 2013

State Rep. Kristina Roegner will again have her Legislator for a Day program to encourage students to read this summer.

To participate in the program, students in grades 1 to 6 may stop by any participating library, pick up a bookmark that they can use to document five books they read. Each completed bookmark serves as an entry form.

One winner will be picked from each participating library and will be invited to go to Columbus with their parents to spend a day as a mock legislator.

"I want to encourage children to visit their local libraries so they might discover and embrace the joy of reading," Roegner, R-Hudson, said in a news release.

Bookmarks must be completed and returned to one of the libraries by Friday, June 8 to qualify. Winners will be selected at random from each libary. Winners will receive a tour of the Statehouse, a lunch with Roegner and the opportunity to particpate in a mock legislative session.

Participating libraries are: Hudson Library, 96 Library St. in Hudson; Nordonia Hills Library, 9458 Olde Eight Road in Northfield; Twinsburg Public Library, 10050 Ravenna Road in Twinsburg; and Stow-Munroe Falls Public Library, 3512 Darrow Road in Stow.
