The governor makes the rounds

By Doug Published: April 5, 2011

Governor John Kasich has been making himself available to a number of national conservative news organizations to discuss his budget and legislation.

In the National Review:

For conservatives, it's a recession era dream budget. 'It balances the budget, preserves our tax cuts, and sets the stage for renewing the ability of Ohio to create jobs,' Ohio governor John Kasich tells National Review Online.

He also appeared on Hannity on the Fox channel shortly after signing Senate Bill 5. Kasich says the bill was necessary because many local governments are "racing toward bankruptcy."

He said that he may want to put something on the ballot this fall if opponents to SB5 are successful in getting a referendum on the issue. Asked what that might be, he joked that he might want a vote on merit pay for reporters.

The interview also is available on Kasich's campaign website.
