Some people may be fed up with Washington and frustrated that they can't share their thoughts or hear directly from those involved in the process.
U.S. Rep. Marcia Fudge plans to give her constituents the opportunity to do just that in a event in Akron next week.
Fudge will provide a state-of-the-district update and discuss "Where do we go from here?" after the recently ended federal government shutdown. The event will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday at the Akron-Summit County Public Library, 60 S. High St.
Fudge will provide an update on legislation and federal issues, including the shutdown and the implementation of the Affordable Care Act. She also will listen to constituents' concerns.
"The unfortunate impasse that led to vital government services coming to a standstill and to uncertainty that the United States may not pay its debt has been the epitome of dysfunction and irresponsibility for this Congress," Fudge said in a press release about the Akron event.
Fudge represents the 11th District, which includes parts of Summit County and Akron.
Those attending are asked to RSVP by calling 330-835-4758.
