The Portage County TEA Party will discuss the scandal involving the treatment of veterans in federally funded facilities in Arizona and other states at its monthly meeting.
Jeremiah Martin, the Northeast Ohio Coordinator for Concerned Veterans for America, will discuss the ongoing issues with the services provided by the Veterans Administration (VA). He will detail what citizens can do to urge Congress to take action to protect veterans. Congress is considering a bill that would give VA administrators the authority to make needed changes.
The meeting will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Maplewood Career Center, 7075 state Route 88 in Ravenna. It is open to the public and refreshments will be provided.
