Wow, sucks for you Europe!
Due to a serious shoulder injury to Patrick, The Black Keys’ forthcoming European concerts, part of their Turn Blue World Tour, have been cancelled up until March 10. Regrettably, due to prior scheduled commitments and venue availability, efforts to reschedule the original dates were unsuccessful; therefore all tickets will be refunded in full at their point of purchase. At this time, it is not expected that any dates after March 10 will be cancelled.
From Dan & Pat: “We are very sorry to have to cancel our upcoming performances through March 10. Patrick needs time to heal. We thank all of our fans for their support and we’re looking forward to getting back on the road.”To read more or comment...
Wait, Country fans..Don't blame me, blame the Music City formula to which songwriters, performers and producers must strictly adhere.
Same chords, damn near the same guitar solo, there even all in the same key!

Presumably Pat Carney's bum shoulder will be back in place and ready to go by Summer.

This sucks...I interviewed Jeff in 2012, shortly after he lost his sight and he was admirably sanguine about going blind and he kept on doing what he loved..making music.

This is getting kind of depressing though it is the natural way of things. Boomer icons and Classic Rockers continue to shuffle off this mortal coil.

The Black Keys will return to Austin City Limits for it's 40th season which will air on January 31st.
Here's a preview of the R.S. described "Nashville-via-Akron" band's doing "Fever." Dig Dan's polka dot shirt.
As the 57th Annual Grammy Award Nominations trickle out, we have our First Black Keys sighting (what, you think I endured "CBS This Morning" for all the other artists?)
BEST ROCK SONG
Ain't It Fun - Paramore
Blue Moon - Beck
Fever - The Black Keys
Gimme Something Good - Ryan Adams
Lazaretto - Jack white
Quick, someone sing me the hook of the Beck, Paramore and Ryan Adams songs!
I'll give this one to The Keys (that'll make their day, I'm sure) but I gotta say I love that "Lazaretto" riff, simple, rockin' and funky.

So it's December and that means it's time for the annual onslaught of end-of-the-year "Best of" lists. WHEEEE!
Well, Rolling Stone has jumped out ahead and named The Black Keys Turn Blue Album the 3rd best album of 2014
Wanna guess who took the two top spots?
Here's some hints...Rolling Stone is a very old corporate rock magazine that loves it's old classic rock buddies.
Let's see, which of their old rock buddies, released albums this year (Neil Young doesn't count)....OH! Here's Bruce Springsteen and wait! U2 forced an album on millions of people this year!To read more or comment...
