Ok, got that out of the way, here is the official word from The Boss and Livenation
Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band will be touring extensively in the US and Europe in 2012, making a stop April 17th at Quicken Loans Arena. Tickets for the concert go on sale this Saturday, January 28th at 10am.
Bruce Springsteen's new album Wrecking Ball has been set for March 6th release on Columbia Records. Marking it his 17th studio album, Wrecking Ball features 11 new Springsteen songs and was produced by Ron Aniello with Bruce Springsteen and executive producer Jon Landau. A special edition of 'Wrecking Ball' will also be available and include two bonus tracks and exclusive artwork and photography.
"Bruce has dug down as deep as he can to come up with this vision of modern life. The lyrics tell a story you can't hear anywhere else and the music is his most innovative in recent years. The writing is some of the best of his career and both veteran fans and those who are new to Bruce will find much to love on 'Wrecking Ball'" said long-time manager Jon Landau.
'Wrecking Ball' is available for pre-order now on Amazon and iTunes.
I've seen Springsteen thrice over the years in three quite different settings (with the E St. Band, solo acoustic, and with the Seeger Sessions Band) and though I ain't the biggest Springsteen fan, the dude sure knows how to put on a show.
It's also fun to watch grown-ass men with jobs, wives, mortgages, kids and grandkids behave like 12 year-old girls at a Justin Bieber concert when in the presence of His Royal Bruce-ness.
