Indie rock legends Dinosaur Jr. coming to Musica, April 8

Wow, Let's hear it for longtime area booker/manager Tim Eddings who currently books for downtown night spot Musica because this ought to be a dadrn good show.

The reconstituted Dinosaur Jr., the 80's/90's indie rock legends featuring original members guitarist J. Mascis (a buddy to Clevelanders Cobra Verde), Sebadoh leader Lou Barlow and drummer Murph will bring their classic indie rock tunes such as Out There and Freak Scene and songs from their upcoming as-yet untitled album.

Young Jeezy to perform at Akron Civic Theatre

For one night, the stately Akron Civic Theatre will become a hot rap cipher when Atlanta rapper Young Jeezy performs on Friday, March 5.
The Grammy nominated rapper whose hits include I'm So Hood, Go Getta (with R. Kelly) and the number one single Love In The Club (with Usher) will bring his Recession Tour (named for his third album) to town with Lil Boosie, Ron Brownz, and DJ Pro Style of BET's 106 and Park in tow.

Tickets are on sale now at the Civic box Office and Ticketmaster for $85.00, $55.00, $25.00

Lux Interior of The Cramps & former Akronite dies at 62

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Lux Interior, co-founder and lead singer of the pioneering horror-punk band the Cramps, has died, the group's publicist said. He was 62.

Interior —born Erick Lee Purkhiser — died Wednesday of a pre-existing heart condition at a hospital in Glendale, Calif., publicist Aleix Martinez said in a statement.
