Leroy "Sugarfoot" Bonner, Ohio Players frontman dead at 69
If you were a child in the 1970s then the Ohio Players album covers may have been your first girlfriend.
Aside from that the OHIO PLAYERS were a true R&B Band. A tight, funk machine with a bunch of dudes onstage; horns, percussion, rhythm- all grooving TOGETHER....I miss that.

Blues legend B.B. King coming to the Akron Civic Theatre in June
Ok, folks a bona fide living legend is coming to our humble town. If you have affinity for the blues or just want to see a living legend while he's still living (he's 87 folks...I'm juss sayin') get thee to a ticketmaster (or better yet the Civic box office...fewer "convenience fees") and come see the King while he still reigns..
sorry...didn't mean to be morose. Anyway, from the digital desks at the Akron Civic Theatre.

Black Sabbath to release first Ozzy fronted album in 35 years....but without Bill Ward
...well that sucks...original Sabbath drummer Bill Ward was a big part of the awesomeness that is the band's classic first five albums (Black Sabbath (1970), Paranoid (1970), Master of Reality (1971), Black Sabbath Vol. 4 (1972), Sabbath Bloody Sabbath (1973))
By his accounts, the primary reason he's not still in Black Sabbath is because they lowballed him financially when planning one of their recent tours, much to the consternation of longtime fans. I mean Brad Wilk is cool and all, but he ain't funky and heavy like Ward.

Well, that'll be fun...where the hell has Michelle Williams been all this time?
I saw her open for Luther Vandross several years ago (obviously) doing a contemporary gospel thing.....and she was not very good.

Mariah Carey is afraid of Nicki Minaj...
Ok, let's be honest what would be more interesting television viewing.
Yet another gaggle of aspiring pop stars preening and wailing through Season 203 of American Idol or a weekly catfight (verbal and/or physical) between Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj in full stage gear?
