Great White (sorta) coming to Akron on Friday night

By Malcolm Abram Published: June 6, 2013

Yep, darn short notice but Great White the 1980s purveyors of hair-metal and hard rock are coming to Akron to bang out their hits including Once Bitten, Twice Shy, Rock Me, House of Broken Love and...ahem... Mista Bone to the Tap House on Friday night.

If you're a longtime Great White fan you probably know that in recent years there have been two versions of the band touring and recording while threatening to sue each other in the process.

The band officially (and apparently legally) calling themselves GREAT WHITE features a trio of founding/classic lineup members including lead guitarist Mark Kendall, drummer Audie Desbrow and rhtyhm guitarist Michael Lardie

The version that will be rocking the Tap House Friday night will be GREAT WHITE FEATURING (original singer) JACK RUSSELL.

Assuming you have no dog in the fight, if you're just a fan of the music, then this may be the show for you.

What: Great White featuring Jack Russell

When: 6 p.m., Friday, June 7

Where: The Tap House Concert Venue, 2215 Waterloo Rd., Akron

Tickets: $20, $40

Information: (330) 784-7177
