Isn't it nice when couple find activities to do together?

Mates of State, the married Kansas couple Kori Gardner (vocals, keyboards and occasional guitar) and Jason Hammel (vocals, drums and occasional Casio synthesizer) who make pleasant boy/girl harmony heavy indie pop tunes are playing The Grog Shop in Cleveland Heights Saturday nights to promote their upcoming covers album Crushes (The Covers Mixtape) with openers Free Energy and comedian Todd Barry.

The "Mixtape" features the duo covering songs by personal favorites including Nick Cave, Girls, The Mars Volta, Fleetwood Mac, Death Cab for Cutie, Belle and Sebastian, and of course Tom Waits.

Here's the video for their version of Nick Cave's Love Letter
