The Kent Stage celebrating seven years of beating the odds by staying open announced today that Rock Hall of Famer/Cream bassist Jack Bruce's Wednesday April 1 concert has been postponed.
But don't take it personally N.E. Ohio Bruce fans, apparently Bruce who has already survived a liver transplant has postponed the entire tour due to illness.
The Kent Stage says it's working with Bruce's management to reschedule the show as soon as possible and expects to have a new date announced in a few weeks.
Previously purchased Tickets will be honored at the new date.
Bruce's latest album is Seven Moons and features a power trio with Robin Trower and Gary Husband that unsurprisingly recalls Cream at times as well as a bit of the jazz and fusion that both Bruce and Trower (who also recorded together in the 1980s) have dabbled in over the decades.
With plenty of active, fat bottomed bass and Trower's screaming bluesy leads, it should tide fans over until Bruce gets back on his feet.
If that won't do it check it this cool video featuring Bruce backing up Buddy Guy and the great Rahsaan Roland Kirk
