PHISH Fans get a freebie from

By malcolm Published: March 4, 2009

Ok, all you Phisheads (or whatever you call yourselves) your favorite obsession is giving you what you want for free!

The wildly popular, recently reunited Vermont jam band who will be playing their first shows in more than four years is offering FREE DOWNLOADS of it's upcoming three weekend reunion shows at Hampton Coliseum for a brief time.
Here's the deal.

"We really wanted to show our gratitude to all the Phish fans for their support and the overwhelming response they've had to these shows. It's going to be an amazing celebration and we only wish everybody could be there," Phish lead guitarist/vocalist Trey Anastasio said to the P.R. person who asked him why.

The shows will be professionally recorded and mixed in a mobile recording studio onsite using feeds from both the soundboard and fan audience microphones. 24 hours after each show high quality mp3s will be made available for a "limited time" absolutely free at

The shows will also be available for purchase in CD-quality FLAC downloads ($12.95/show) or custom 3-CD sets ($23.00) but since most fans have been happy passing around audience recording (though the technology has come a long way from days when Rerun bootlegged the Doobie Brothers with an old giant button sporting recorder on What's Happening), I'll wager many will settle for the free high quality (256K) mp3s.
