The Moody Blues coming to Akron's E.J. Thomas Hall in December

By Malcolm Abram Published: August 6, 2012

The Moody Blues, the venerated and beloved English rock band that many folks belive deserve to be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame are coming to Akron's E.J. Thomas Hall on the campus of the University of Akron on December 3.

Tickets for the show go on sale at 11 a.m., on Friday, August 10

The band whose best known song Nights In White Satin recently returned to the U.K. charts

when 19 year-old U.K. X-Factor, winner Matt Cardle performed the song on the hit show, propelling the song back onto the UK charts (#2 on UK rock and #27 on BBC Radio 1).

In addition to the show and in a bit of tasty irony (you know, because they can't seem to actually get inducted into the rock hall), The Moody Blues – Justin Hayward, John Lodge, and Graeme Edge- are donating a portion of every ticket sold to the "Rock and Roll Hall of Fame + Museum education activities, which reach audiences from toddlers to senior citizens and give students and teachers alike a deeper understanding of the impact that rock and roll has made on our society. The programs are conducted on-site at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum, as well as in classrooms across the world, via distance learning technology."
